What is a benefits allowance? And when and how do you apply for one? Rights and responsibilities around this can sometimes be difficult to understand. That is why Gemeente Amstelveen came to us to make the information about the Participation Act more accessible.
After residents apply for the participation allowance, they need to receive a concise, engaging summary. This covers all the steps they must go through and where they can seek help. It is important that this summary is easy for everyone to understand. Read in this case study how we went about it!

The perfect communication mix
There is a great deal to contend with when applying for a benefits allowance. Yet it remains essential to get everything properly sorted. It is therefore helpful to be able to look up all the information about rights and responsibilities with ease. To present the information in an accessible way, we decided together with the Municipality of Amstelveen to package it in a leaflet. And by having an explainer animation produced.
It was important to use clear, plain language. The text is supported by illustrative, graphic elements in the style of the Municipality of Amstelveen. To further improve accessibility, the leaflet was produced in Dutch and translated into Arabic, Turkish, Farsi, Tigrinya, and English

Why choose a 2D animation video?
In addition to producing a leaflet in six different languages, a decision was made to create a Have a 2D animation made. In a 2D animation, various matters are explained in a straightforward and approachable way. It works better than plain text or a static illustration.
The moving illustrations without depth make the information more engaging and therefore more accessible. And the combination of voice-over, music, and sound ensures that the target audience retains the message more effectively.
