A voice-over is literally a voice that is laid over images. The voice-over narrates what is happening in the images that a viewer sees. You use this voice to provide the viewer with additional information or to explain complex matters clearly. You should therefore only use a voice-over when it is truly necessary for the images and to convey the right message.
