One shade of green
With a green screen you can change the background of an actor, the film set, to whatever you like. For this you use specialist video software.

By using a green screen you can shoot many scenes of your film in a short space of time without changing location. This often resolves many logistical and budget-related problems. A good editor can make a green screen scene look quite realistic. Nothing quite beats a real film on location, of course. But sometimes the goal isn't to make a realistic film at all, but rather to convey a message with humour. A green screen often works perfectly in that case. By adding photos and footage to the background, you can bring all sorts of people, objects, or animals into the frame. While writing the script or screenplay you can take this into account and create interaction between your actor and the background. Green screens therefore offer a great deal of possibilities when you are limited in terms of locations and/or budget.
