What is Virtual Reality (VR)?

A short VR guide

Virtual Reality (VR), or virtual reality, is a computer simulation that places you in a different environment. You experience this through VR glasses that close your view of the real world and show stereoscopic 3D animation images, giving you the feeling that you are really in that other world.

VR glasses use sensors to track your movements, causing the world in the simulation to move when you turn your head. But, you can also manually rotate the virtual world to view it fully. This way you experience the environment in a very realistic way. Click here to have your VR animation made .

With Virtual Reality you can experience everything. VR is used for, among other things:

  • Gaming: VR games are an immersive experience that make you feel like you are really in the game.
  • Training: VR can be used to train people in a safe and realistic way, for example for medical or technical procedures.
  • Real estate: Potential buyers can virtually walk through a house or apartment before actually viewing it.
  • Therapy: VR can be used to treat anxiety disorders or pain.
