What is a 2D movie?

2D and 3D animation differ in the way they display and combine visual elements. A 2D film is the same as a 2D animation, namely an interplay of images and drawings that move in two dimensions. 2D animation takes place on a flat plane, which means there is no real “depth” to the image.

Elements of both 2D and 3D animation are often combined to give a more modern look and explain complex topics more clearly. It's important to choose the style of animation that best suits your creative vision. 2D films are made using hand-drawn techniques and digital tools. 

By practicing and trying different techniques, you can develop your own style. You can see it as a modern craft. create an animation from physical (pencil) drawings or from photos. The possibilities actually go as far as your own creativity. If you find it too childish or abstract, then 3D animation is probably what suits you better.
