AI videos for Willemdag

For Willemdag 2025, we developed a series of AI videos that bring together history and the future. With Willem van Oranje himself as virtual host, we created five unique videos that inspired students, teachers, and partners for the event. From a lighthearted summer message to a dynamic countdown, each video helped build excitement, engagement, and an innovative form of communication.

How do you announce a major event that brings together hundreds of students, teachers, and partners, and which this year focuses entirely on artificial intelligence? The Willem van Oranje College commissioned us to create five AI-generated videos that will serve as a prelude to Willemdag 2025. The idea: an original blend of history and the future, with Willem van Oranje himself as host.

Our approach

We developed five scripts that gradually lead up to Willem's Day. Each AI video had its own unique perspective and setting, but always featured the same recognizable protagonist: William of Orange, brought to life by AI.

In the first video, Willem looks back at the past and then jumps to the present, where AI is playing an increasingly important role in education.

The second video was filmed at Buren (with a historical link to William of Orange). A lighthearted summer message in which AI also plays a role in everyday situations.

In the third video, Willem offers a personal invitation to experience Willem Day. Willem talks about keynotes, workshops, and even a VR mission.

From his 'workbench', Willem shares useful information in video 4. He talks about the event app, FAQs, and preparations, for example.

The final video is a dynamic countdown video with voice-overs, music, and theatrical effects, welcoming all 17 participating schools and teams and festively opening the event.

By using AI video techniques, scripts and creative storytelling, we ensured that every message stood out and excited the target audience for the event.

The result

The five-part video series created a continuous build-up of tension and engagement leading up to Willemdag.

  • Practical information (such as registering, using the app, communicating dietary preferences) was shared in an accessible and memorable way.
  • The countdown video provided a huge energy boost at the start of the event and strengthened the group feeling.

 

Thus, AI not only became the theme of the day, but also the form in which communication took place, making the concept extra strong and innovative.
